Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Pumpy Tudors was doing his regular patrol when he noticed a small white canine lying motionless on the side of the road. It was around 96 degrees Fahrenheit that day, and the dog was directly under the sun’s extreme heat.

With all his years of experience as a State Trooper, Tudors knew that exposure to a scorching temperature for a prolonged period would result in dehydration. He could see that the pooch was already panting heavily. If he left the dog alone, there was a very good chance she would perish. The good-hearted cop couldn’t allow that to happen.

Midday rescue

The kind officer pulled his patrol car aside and went to the dog. He didn’t want to pick her up right away, fearing the pup would run away or bite him. So he pulled a small chair out, sat next to the pooch, and opened an umbrella to get some shade.

Tudors then gave the stray some water and snacks. The dog was grateful for his help and learned to trust the cop. After some time, he gently lifted his new friend and placed him inside his cool car. Their next stop was the local shelter.

Together forever

The dog, later named Princess, stayed in the shelter for a week. She received medical treatment and regained her strength. All through her stay in the rescue facility, Tudors regularly came back, making sure that the rescue pup was doing fine. He was very concerned about her wellbeing.

Once the dog’s condition was stable, the trooper declared his intent to adopt Princess. He waited a couple of days to get all the papers sorted and finally moved the pup to his home. Tudors’ whole family loved her and showered the dog with love and attention. They plan to spoil Princess and forever give her the royal treatment.
