Angel, a rescued dog, is living proof that sad stories can have happy endings. When her rescuers found her, they doubted that she would make it. Her journey was painful, and her body suffered a lot, but she was resilient. The love and nurturing she received from her rescuers allowed her to transform into the beautiful and healthy dog that she is today.

In the hands of an abuser

Kay Buell, also known as Sherre Faught, reached out to a rescue group to report about a sick dog. She told them that the dog was stumbling down the road when she found her, and that she brought her home. Buell claimed to be a dog rescuer and foster parent of other rescue dogs.

Some months later, the group discovered that Buell was a dog abuser. According to their investigation, Buell was responsible for what happened to Angel. When the police conducted a raid in her house, they found a lot of dogs who were starving in dying. A dead dog was hidden inside her trash bin and two more died after the raid.

Buell was given fourteen counts of felony animal cruelty. Rescue from the Hart worked so hard to make sure that Buell paid for what she did. It was quite a challenge, but they wanted to keep their promise to Angel.

Angel’s healing journey

The sick dog was so weak when Rescue from the Hart found her. Most of her organs had completely shut down, and she could only process tiny portions of food. The rescuers had to lend her their strength so she can function. It was difficult, but they had no plans of giving up on her.

After months of therapy and medication, Angel regained her strength. She found the will to live again thanks to the folks at Rescue from the Hart. Watch her story here:
