The saddest part of being a dog owner is knowing your dog will leave you sooner than you wanted. Getting ready is hard as an owner because you don’t like to let them go. But you can make the last moments memorable.
In this story, a man living in the UK made the best out of his moment with his dog for the last moment of his life. Here’s the full story:

A dying Labradoodle named Monty was suffering from leukemia. As he was sick and couldn’t walk his owner, Carlos Fresco, decided to walk him using a wheelbarrow. They went to the top of Pen y Fan, where they spent their final walk together.

When Monty was still a puppy, he and his owner, Carlos, went on long walks on hills around the United Kingdom. But, he got sick eighteen months from then. At that moment, Carlos realized that their moments together would not be long, and he needed to act fast.

In an interview, Carlos said that he prepared his wheelbarrow with blankets to make Monty comfortable while pushing it through the hills of Pen y Fan. Monty’s face showed that he loved what his owner did, as well as the reaction of the walkers when they saw him.
Other walkers even took turns pushing the wheelbarrow as they adored Monty that much. And as a people-loving animal, Monty was so happy to see how people cared for him.

People are touched by how Carlos made an effort for this dying dog. They saw so much love between the pair. So, even the total strangers said hello to them and helped Monty reach the top of the hill.

Monty’s health worsened a few days later and took away his life. He passed away after Father’s Day, lying on his human bed. Carlos said that when he checked Monty that morning, he finally left. But the look on his face was so peaceful. Carlos was happy that they went on the last walk — the last adventure for Monty and their previous bond.
