One day, a Puerto Rican woman spotted a litter of pups hidden in the bushes near her home. She thought that they were abandoned and called a nonprofit rescue organization called Love Of All Dogs Rescue, and asked them to save the puppies.

What the concerned woman didn’t know is that the litter’s mom was nearby and saw her go near her puppies. By the time the rescuers arrived, she had taken away all her puppies already. They tried looking for them, but they were nowhere to be found.

There was surely nothing they could do but wait until someone reports them again. They didn’t have to wait long.

Cold mud

Two days after the original call was made, someone reported the puppies again. This time, they were in a way worse situation. The mama dog hid her litter in a junkyard, under a truck, and covered them with mud. It was cold that time and the mud could freeze them.

The rescuers wasted no time and gathered the puppies. The mama dog watched them as they rescued the litter, but refused to come near. As the puppies needed to be cleaned and placed in a warm environment, they rushed back to their shelter, vowing to return and rescue their mother as well.

They came back several times, but the dog was nowhere to be found. They asked around and learned that the dog lived in the junkyard for so many years, and now she has gone into hiding. Apparently, she had a litter before, but all her puppies died. And now, her new litter has been taken away from her.

Together again

Thankfully, the mama dog was eventually s[potted and captured. She was brought back to the shelter where she was reunited with her puppies. The shelter will take care of all of them until they are healthy enough to be adopted.

The nonprofit organization has already made plans to send them to New York where they will be found good homes.
