Spectrum Plants Gold Coast is a family-run nursery in Gold Coast, Australia. However, it’s more than just any nursery – it’s home to numerous farm animals as well. In it, you might come across some sheep, chickens, and guinea pigs. And with the farm animals, is the family’s beloved pet dog, a former stray they named Treasure.

Recently, Spectrum Plants became a home to piglets. When they first came, the tiny animals were in poor condition: they were dirty and sunburnt. They needed extra love and care to recover. Thankfully, good old Treasure the Boxer is always ready to give a helping hand, or paw, that is.

Treasure hasn’t had a litter of her own recently, but she nursed the piglets anyway. Amazingly, Treasure was able to produce milk that could sustain the piglets. When the Spectrum Plants Gold Coast owner, Wes Trevor, asked the vet for advice on this matter, he was given a go signal for as long as Treasure could sustain it. Here’s a short video clip of Treasure nursing her foster kids:

Acting like the piglets’ own mom, Treasure nursed them regularly and takes good care of them. There was even one instance when one of the piglets got away, but Treasure ran after it like any mother pig would. This shows that she doesn’t only nurse them whenever she likes it, she genuinely cares for the little piglets, as if they were her own. Indeed, Treasure’s motherly instincts transcend species – from a feared Boxer to a loving mother pig.

Treasure’s unusual motherly love soon attracted many visitors to the nursery. Apart from Treasure and the piglets, families enjoy visiting the Spectrum Plants because of the farm animals. Right now, the nursery also serves as some sort of petting zoo, which originated from the family’s love for animals.
