A kind woman came across two dogs that wandered the streets of her neighborhood on their own. She worried for their safety so she brought them to her porch and kept them away from traffic. She also reached out to her community, hoping to find the dogs’ family.

The woman asked around, but when no one claimed the dogs, she knew she needed to ask for help. She couldn’t keep them so she sought help. She contacted local rescue groups until she reached the charitable institution Hope For Paws.

Katie McKittrick, one of the lead rescuers of the said group, responded to the woman’s request for help. She drove to the Good Samaritan’s house, where she met the two dogs. The animals welcomed her warmly and allowed her to put a Lucky Leash on each of them easily.

Katie thanked the woman for keeping the dogs safe. After securing them in her vehicle, she headed to CARES, a veterinary center. On the way there, she named the dogs Ernie and Mulligan.

Ernie and Mulligan received clean bills of health from the doctors at CARES. They enjoyed soothing baths and haircuts from Katie and her colleague Alex.

After a few days, Katie and Alex took Ernie and Mulligan on a vacation. They went to the beach, where the dogs spent time resting and relaxing. It’s their way of making sure that Ernie and Mulligan have a fun start in their new lives.

The dogs had fun. They made the most out of their trip, running freely through the sand and playing on the shore. They even went fearlessly into the water to cool off after getting tired from playing.

Ernie and Mulligan moved to LA Animal Rescue for foster care. They immediately warmed up to their foster family and learned to enjoy their company. They now look forward to meeting their forever families.
