Accidents can occur anytime, anywhere. It often caught us unaware. That is why it is important to be always cautious no matter what. It was just a regular day for Kristen Seldon and her dog.

Kristen, a responsible dog owner, regularly walks her dog to ensure her 95-pound four-legged friend is in a good, healthy condition. Yeti is a Golden Retriever and Great Pyrenees mix. That morning, both were out for a stroll. Kristen never thought that in a few moments, she would be involved in a gripping accident involving her beloved Yeti.

The day was beautiful and sunny as if nothing can go wrong. The two were returning home from Kristen’s trip to the post office, and she was walking ahead of Yeti. When she turned around, Yeti is nowhere to be found.

As fate would have it, Police Officer Jake Smith was nearby and helped Kristen looked for her dog. Yeti was thirsty and had wandered off to a creek. Unfortunately, she somehow fell.

What’s more, the creek was flooded at that time. Although it was shallow, the current was strong enough to drag a large dog. Watch the rescue footage below from the officer’s body camera.

Yeti was caught just in time. The strong current of the flooded creek was slowly pulling the dog inside a large drain pipe.

Kristen was lucky to catch Yeti on time. All Kristen could think at that time is her dog. With the help of Officer Smith, they pulled Yeti from the water. Who would have thought that their seemingly routine day will be met with a lot of excitement?

Luckily with the scary ordeal behind them, both Kristen and Yeti were grateful that the police officer was there to help them just on time.

After so many stories of animal cruelty, this one lifted my spirits.
