Golden Retrievers are such charismatic dogs. Aside from being gentle, they’re very good with kids too. It’s not surprising to have more and more families prefer having golden retrievers as part of their homes.

These golden treasures have a life expectancy of ten to twelve years maximum. But there have been a lot of golden retrievers surpassing their senior years, thanks to their loving families who keep them as healthy as possible.

At age 14, Auggie was diagnosed with kidney issues but was controlled by continuous supplements and a good diet composed of mixing wet and dry food. But other than that, at age 20, Auggie can still do his everyday walks in the yard. He just has a bit of shaking upon waking up and some minor issues with moving around.

There have been several Retrievers reaching the age of 17 and 18, and only very few getting on 19. But for now, Auggie is the first and only Golden Retriever hitting 20. And his family is so proud of him.

More than just about celebrating such a milestone, Auggie was celebrated for being such a good blessing to his family. Being a sweet and loyal companion to his fur parents and siblings, they all contributed to how long he wanted to stay with his family.

Its official. Let it be known that Golden Retriever, "August", is the oldest known, oldest living Golden Retriever! She…
