Claudia Papp has always loved fostering animals in need, and when Violet the kitten came into her life, she took great care of him like he was one of her own.

She recalled how sick Violet looked when he first got to her home. Claudia believes that Violet must have been dumped by the person who previously had him since he had no idea how to care for a cat. Violet’s eyes looked terrible, his fur was mangey, and he did not feel well at all.

Claudia shared that she did not think Violet would survive because she only slept, ate, and relaxed during the first 24 hours. However, she quickly realized that Violet was a sweet little fighter because he would knead his blanket and show some spirit whenever she was around him.

Claudia gushed about Violet’s personality being the most precious thing she has ever encountered because she had never seen a kitten do that before on their first meeting. Fortunately, after a week, Violet started getting better, so she introduced him to her dog, Chapo.

Violet connected to Chapo more than the other animals in Claudia’s home. Claudia admitted feeling nervous about Violet not wanting to be around Chapo, but her worries immediately disappeared when she saw the two cuddling together in one spot.

Violet loves snuggling up to Chapo, and Chapo would groom Violet until he fell asleep. Everything seemed to be going well for Violet and Chapo until the little kitten contracted an upper respiratory infection.

Chapo was always playful whenever Violet was around, but he instantly changed and became much calmer when Violet got sick. Claudia shared that she could not be any more grateful that Chapo took on the role of becoming a great nurse to Violet because it sped up the kitten’s recovery.
